1.4410 (S32750 - F53) Super Duplex Stainless Steel

1.4410 SUPER DUPLEX

1.4410 Super duplex stainless steel is the most widely used super duplex stainless steel grade. This grade is written as 1.4410 or X2CrNiMoN25-7-4 according to EN norm and it is written as UNS S32750 of SAF 2507 or F53 according to UNS norm. We can think that 1.4410 is a better version of 1.4462 duplex grade. Bircelik has the biggest 1.4410 super duplex stock at Turkey. 1.4410 stainless has a good corrosion resistance and also ggod mechanical properties. 1.4410 material is the most widely used super duplex grade and it is not so hard to find this grade in any shape or any size. 1.4410 duplex can be used in hard corrosive enviroments and it also has a good mechanical properties.

There is a number which is called PREN numer and this number shows the corrosion resistance of the material which will be used in petrochemical industries. In most of the petrochecmical applications, minimum PREN number required is 40 and 1.4410 stainless steel materials confirms this PREN number. So because of this reason, 1.4410 super duplex material used mostly in petrochemical industry. Pitting resistance equivalent number (PREN) formula is so easy and there are several formulas but the most widely used one is PREN = %Cr + 3.3 x %Mo + 16 x %N. So if we use this formula, we can easly find pitting resistance equivalent number.

1.4410 super duplex is not the only super duplex grade. There are also two very common other stainless steel grades, which are 1.4501 stainless and 1.4507 stainless. In most of the applications, 1.4410 grade can be used as alternative to 1.4501 and 1.4507 grade. 1.4410 stainless can be used in oil platforms, chemical production facilities, heat exchangers, power generation facilities and sea platforms.
