1.4034 stainless steel or X46Cr13 is a very common stainless steel grade used and this is a high carbon version of 420 (1.4021) grade materials. This versions contains ~%0.46 carbon and this version can get hardness up to 52-54 HRC after heat threatment.
1.4034 can be heat threated and you can find all these material at Bircelik stocks. This version has a higher carbon then the other versions of 420 and high carbon decrease the corrosion resistance. So for example 420D has a worse corrosion resistance then 420A because of its higher carbon content but 1.4034 can be hardened more because of its high carbon content.
